We are excited to announce the appointment of Grant David Ward Sr., JD, as our next Chief Executive Officer and President, effective January 1, 2026. Grant will also serve as President of Life Insurance Company of Boston & New York (LICOBNY), our New York subsidiary. This leadership transition follows the retirement of Paul A. Quaranto, Jr., who will continue to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors.
A Leader with Proven Experience
Grant has been an integral part of Boston Mutual Life’s leadership team for nearly a decade, most recently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). His career spans roles in Legal, Compliance, Customer Experience, and Operations, bringing a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to our mission.

About Grant
Grant holds a Doctor of Law degree from DePaul College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Howard University. He is a graduate of the LIMRA Strategic Leadership Experience at The Wharton School of Business and has held leadership roles at SBLI of Massachusetts, MetLife Financial Services, Deloitte, FINRA, John Hancock Financial Services, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Beyond his professional achievements, Grant is actively involved in industry leadership and community service, mentoring and volunteering with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, Conexion, and My Brother’s Keeper.
